The last day of 2018 is finally here and there's no better way to celebrate than with some good food and great drinks. If you find yourself planning a New Year's Eve party and have forgotten something important, there are several grocery stores open.
A majority of grocery stores in the U.S. will remain open on Monday, with some running on limited holiday hours. Newsweek has gathered a list of major grocery chains that will be open on New Year's Eve. Be sure to contact you local market to confirm hours of operation.
Grocery Stores
Kroger stores will be open for normal hours from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., according to Good Housekeeping. Albertsons will also be open on Monday for normal hours, between 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Safeway shoppers will be glad to know that stores will be open on December 31 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Walmart locations will be open on New Year's Eve, but hours of operation vary by location. Meanwhile, Target will be open at 8 a.m. for limited hours.
Trader Joe's announced that it will close at 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve. "We have all the bubbly and tasty savories you need to ring in the New Year properly," Trader Joe's said in statement. "Be sure to come in before the count down commences."
Cub Foods will be open for 24 hours.
Publix stores will be open at regular hours and will close at 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve.
Wegmans stores will be open until 8 p.m. on Monday and reopen early on Tuesday.
Aldi stores will be open on limited holiday hours on New Year's Eve. Holiday hours vary by location. You can search for your nearest store here.
New York-based Fairway markets will be opened as early as 6 a.m. on Monday and remain open as late as 11 p.m.
The following grocery stores will also be open on New Year's Eve: Market Basket, WinnDixie, Whole Foods, Hannaford, ShopRite and Ralph's.
Membership-Only Wholesale Clubs
Sam's Club will be open as normal from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Early shopping hours for Plus Members are available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Costco will open at 9 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. on December 31. However, hours may vary by location and it is recommended you call your local warehouse for hours of operation.
BJ's Wholesale Club will also be open on New Year's Eve, with warehouses opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 7 p.m.
