Newsweek and International Business Times are proud to host the second AI and Data Science in Capital Markets event in New York City later this year.

The conference, which will take place in early December, follows on from the success of Newsweek's inaugural data science event, which took place in London's Barbican in March 2017. It saw over 400 quants and data science experts gather for a two-day conference exploring state of the art advancements in high-performance computing and trading strategies.

The New York event will explore a similar range of themes, including: alternative datasets; data ingestion, formatting and modelling; infrastructure and interoperability; the application of deep learning and neural networks to capital markets; risk management; and deep portfolio theory.

It will also widen the remit to include: HFT; machine learning and market microstructure; predictions around quantum computing; plus a series of data science classroom seminars.

Tammer Kamel, CEO Quandl, said: "A lot of investors are looking to alternative data to uncover hidden factors that influence public company performance. But finding and intermixing these new datasets into existing workflows is a largely unsolved problem—one that requires sophisticated data science expertise. This is why good data scientists are in such high demand. For those who can make the investment, alternative datasets will yield better and differentiated trading strategies for investors."

Stephen Morse, former head of Global Financial Data Partnerships at Twitter, and advisor to Neudata, added: "Over the past several years we have seen massive amounts of new, non-traditional data come available in a new digital era—including satellite data, transaction data, IoT, logistics and shipping, location data, web scraped and social data.

"These data sets require, sourcing, evaluation and new analytics and data science approaches to derive meaningful insight. The conference is second to none in this domain—alternative data, AI and data science in capital markets. It's excellent for sophisticated quants, but also for those getting up to speed."

Newsweek's AI and Data Science in Capital Markets conference on December 6-7 in New York is the most important gathering of experts in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in trading.
