Nick Cannon Hit With Conspiracy Theory Over His 12 Children

Father-of-12 Nick Cannon has responded to a bizarre conspiracy theory that he has so many children because he plans to harvest their bone marrow.

Cannon's sizable brood has grown significantly in recent years, with the star welcoming five children with five women in the space of five months in 2022.

In December 2022, Cannon and model Alyssa Scott announced the birth of their daughter, Halo. The pair also had a son, Zen, who was born in June 2021. Zen died in December that year from a brain tumor caused by hydrocephalus, an abnormal increase in fluid in the brain.

Weeks before Halo's arrival, Cannon and radio personality Abby De La Rosa welcomed a daughter called Beautiful Zeppelin in November 2022. This is the third child for Cannon and De La Rosa, as their twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir were born in June 2021.

Cannon announced via Instagram on September 14, 2022, that he and former The Price Is Right model Lanisha Cole had welcomed a girl named Onyx Ice Cole.

Nine days later, on September 23, 2022, Wild 'n Out host Cannon had a son, Rise Messiah Cannon, with former Miss Universe contestant Brittany Bell, the pair's third child together.

Amid his busy year, The Masked Singer host Cannon had a son, Legendary Love, in July 2022 with model and Selling Sunset star Bre Tiesi.

Cannon is also the father of 12-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey. He shares a son, Golden Sagon, 6, and a daughter, Powerful Queen, who turned 3 in December, with Bell.

On Wednesday, Cannon took to his Instagram account to share a video clip of a man sharing his belief that the comedian's rapid family expansion is all part of a plan to boost his own health. The rumor about the star, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2012, dates back to at least 2021.

The man said: "The only conspiracy theory I believe is the Nick Cannon conspiracy theory...that Nick Cannon is having all these kids so that he can get, like, bone marrow, or something, from them. And it won't hurt them, 'cause he got 12 kids."

"So I'm just out here collecting bone marrow?" Cannon said with a laugh as he paused the clip. "What do I need extra bone marrow for?"

"I believe it because he was sick and he needs some kind of bone marrow, or some kind of testing," the man continued of Cannon. "So he's having more than one child."

The man went on to state that Cannon's children with Carey "don't count. Mariah Carey's kids is not getting touched. Only them 10 kids is getting touched, because Mariah Carey's kids is the rich kids."

"All my kids is rich!" Cannon boomed in response to the claims.

After alleging that non-disclosure agreements had been signed by unnamed parties to keep the purported arrangement under wraps, the man added: "I believe this conspiracy theory. He's not just having kids to have them."

Cannon mocked the bizarre claims by quipping: "They're onto me! They figured it out!" He ended the clip with a dramatic, villainous laugh.

The post attracted a flood of comments from amused Instagram users, including TV personality Tiesi, who wrote: "I'm done."

In an interview with People earlier this month, Cannon said he has no plans to expand his family in the near future, telling the publication: "I'm chilling right now. There's no plans on the horizon as of yet... It's so funny, everybody's always trying to get me to have more kids. It's like, 12 ain't enough?"

However, the comic and musician added of the prospect of a 13th child: "Thirteen is a good number. It's definitely a lucky number."

Back in 2022, Cannon poked fun at himself after a meme predicting what the United States will look like by 2050 started making the rounds on social media.

"National Geographic determined what Americans will look like in 2050, and it's beautiful," the post read. It showed a slew of people with varying hairstyles but all with Cannon's face. "Wow! Everybody got jokes!" he wrote on Instagram at the time.
