Engagement rumors are swirling around Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, after the actress suddenly quit production of upcoming Indian action movie Bharat.
The film's director, Ali Abbas Zafar, announced on Twitter that Chopra had decided to leave the project, and alluded to her boyfriend Jonas being the reason behind the departure. "Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her," he wrote on Thursday.
He added: "Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life."
Not long after Zafar's post, fans on Twitter started to speculate Jonas may have popped the question to Chopra, resulting in her decision to quit the role.
The movie was slated to be Chopra's big Bollywood comeback. Indian superstar Salman Khan is still signed on to the project.
Chopra and Jonas went public with their relationship two months ago. They spent the Memorial Day weekend together and appearing at the Beauty and the Beast Live concert at the Hollywood Bowl in May, Us Weekly reported. The duo have been friends even longer and attended to 2017 Met Gala in New York City.
Further fueling wedding bell rumors, Chopra and Jonas met each other's parents in June, People magazine reported. Chopra met Jonas's family first, when he brought the Quantico star to his cousin Rachel Tamburelli's wedding on June 9. Jonas' brothers Frankie and Kevin were also at the New Jersey wedding, as well as their parents Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr.
Nick Jonas reportedly flew to India to meet Chopra's mother on June 22.
Although fans seem to be excited about a Jonas and Chopra union, neither celeb has spoken publicly about engagement rumors just yet.
