Video: Rapper Nipsey Hussle Slaps Man Moments before Performing at 2018 BET Awards Pre-show

On Sunday evening, fans outside the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles witnessed an old-school definition of "laying the smack down." Rapper Nipsey Hussle was caught on video slapping a parking lot employee moments after a heated disagreement with the rapper's bodyguard.

TMZ reported the incident began when Hussle wanted to move orange cones so he could park his car in a restricted area. The rapper was running late for a rehearsal of his pre-show performance for the highly-anticipated awards show. Hussle's bodyguard insisted that he grabbed the cone from the area where he was not allowed to be in. Tensions flared as the parking lot employee decided to smack the cone out of the bodyguard's hand. This action led to the Crenshaw rapper delivering a thunderous smack to the employee's face which led to Hussle being restrained by another security employee.

Fans were able to catch footage of the altercation as Nipsey continue to proceed to the stage and act as if nothing occurred.

Hussle, whose government name is Ermias Asghedom, was able to make it to the outdoor stage to perform with fellow California rapper YG on a track titled "Last Time I Checc'd" off his latest project, "Victory Lap". So far, there have been no reports on if the man who was involved in the physical altercation is planning to press charges on the Crenshaw bred rapper.

The lyricist has major ties to the streets of Los Angeles as he is known to be a part of the Rollin 60's Neighborhood Crip Gang. An independent artist, Hussle's lyrical wordplay, and charisma have helped him gain some impressive accolades in the rap game. In 2010, he was chosen to be a part of XXL Magazine's prestigious "Annual Freshman Top Ten", a selection of 10 up-and-coming artists. Hussle was trending worldwide in 2013 when rapper Jay-Z decided to showcase his support of the rapper by purchasing 100 copies of his mixtape "Crenshaw."

Hussle has been able to achieve huge praise from critics and fans worldwide with his most album he released, "Victory Lap". The album debuted at #4 on Billboard's 200 List. The lead singles for the album were "Rap N*****" and "Last Time I Checc'd". It is Nipsey Hussle's first major commercial release after releasing a string of mixtapes for thirteen years.
