Wrestle Kingdom's pre-show is usually where the New Japan Rumble is held, but this year it's being replaced by a multi-man match to become the number one contend for the NEVER openweight six-man tag team championship.
The participants of this match include: Yuji Nagata, Jeff Cobb and David Finlay vs. Togi Makabe, Toru Yano and Ryusuke Taguchi vs Chuckie T. Beretta and Hirooki Goto vs Hangman Page, Yujiro Takahashi and Mary Scurll vs Minoru Suzuki, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer.
