Brigette, a support with a heart of gold is the newest hero coming to Overwatch . The daughter of Torbjorn has been holding Reinhardt together with tape for too long, now it's her time to get into the fight. She's the first tanky support introduced to the hero shooter, protecting her allies with health packs and a heavy shield. She's also not afraid to head into the middle of the fight, using her shield as a battering ram to break the enemy's lines. She's on the PTR now and her new patch notes have been posted on the forums.
What Are Brigitte's Abilities?
Here are her abilities, straight from Blizzard:
- Rocket Flail – Brigitte's melee weapon has an extended range, enabling her to strike multiple enemies with a single swing.
- Repair Pack – Brigitte throws a Repair Pack that can heal an ally. Any healing over that ally's maximum health provides them with armor instead.
- Whip Shot – Brigitte throws her flail a long distance, dealing damage and knocking an enemy away from her.
- Barrier Shield – Brigitte deploys a frontal energy barrier to absorb a limited amount of damage.
- Shield Bash – Once her Barrier Shield is deployed, Brigitte can dash forward to stun an enemy.
- Inspire – When Brigitte hits enemies with her flail, she also heals nearby allies over time.
- Rally – Brigitte moves faster and provides all nearby allies with armor that lasts until it's removed by damage.
Brigitte Trailer Gives Fans A Jetpack Cat Easter Egg
In her origin trailer, there's an amazing Easter egg that's easy to miss. When in the workshop alongside her father, Brigitte is hammering metal pieces onto an unenthused white cat. That feline is an homage to " jetpack cat," one of the game's original hero designs that never made it into the game.
We've had a good idea that the engineer's apprentice would be the newest hero, but it's nice to see theories turn into reality. Though I guessed wrong on one thing; she has a flail and not a hammer. She's a tanky support who has the potential to be way more than just a healbot for your team. My favorite class has always been support, with League Of Legends Leona and Arena Of Valor's Chaugnar holding my heart.
