Overwatch Hero 27 Update: More Brigette Lindholm Leaks

The newest hero coming to Overwatch could be Torbjörn's daughter, Brigette Lindholm. Teasers have been going out all week on the game's Twitter account, subtly hinting a giant hammer-wielding rebel is going to be the game's hero 27. The rumor mill kicked into overdrive after reddit user fogmoon posted a screenshot of the Japanese PlayOverwatch account sharing what looks to be a very suspicious file name. "Brigette Tease #3" appeared alongside file names and the date, but was quickly changed. The teaser that was supposed to be posted showed blueprints for "Slaga v.3", a giant hammer similar to Reinhardt's.

Fans are still hoping for something a little crazier with the new hero, like the queen of Junkertown or a cat with a jetpack, but all signs point to Reinhardt's travel buddy entering the fight. We've known about Brigette since she first appeared in the 2016 "Reinhardt: Dragon Slayer" comic, but her character really started to take shape in "Honor And Glory." She's a confidant to the stoic German knight who's worried about his aging health. "You gave Overwatch everything, and then they pushed you out," Brigette says in the cinematic. "Why would you go back to them? What are they still fighting for?"

Last week we learned about "Operation White Dome," an Overwatch mission that went horribly wrong with Ana, Torbjörn and an unknown Emra Sarioglu. An omnic attack left the angry mechanic heavily injured and all hope looked lost, until Reinhardt showed up and saved the day. Two days later, we got another tweet and a letter that gave us a glimpse at a softer side of Torbjörn. Talking to the woman bearing his child, Ingrid, he tells her about his wounds and that he'll be making a full recovery. He also warns her that Reinhardt will be their daughter's godfather and might have made a promise to let him name the child.

Though nothing is confirmed, I have a strong suspicion that Brigette will be a tank with an affinity for engineering, just like her father. The salty mechanic has obviously left his mark on his daughter, even if the good-natured Reinhardt tried to raise her as chivalrously as possible. We will find out exactly what's coming in the next few weeks, when the next hero hits the PBE.
