Owner Wraps Up Dogs 'Like Burritos' To Go Outside in Freezing Weather

Living in one of the coldest places on Earth is complicated when you have a short-haired pup, but a crafty dog owner from Canada came up with the perfect solution to take her dogs for a walk, even in the least hospitable weather.

In a viral clip shared on TikTok on Friday by the woman's daughter, under the username kaitspov, two pups can be seen standing by the door, waiting to go about their daily stroll, after being wrapped up with jackets and socks to face the harsh Canadian winter.

The hilarious clip comes with a caption that says: "When it's -42 in Canada so your mom creates leg warmers for your dogs and then sends you a video of them wrapped up like burritos so they can just take a short walk outside." Followed by: "Honestly mom is a genius for this."

Some dogs are naturally less resistant to cold weather than others, so unless you own a Siberian Husky, you may want to keep your furbabies warm indoors for the next couple of months.

This doesn't mean they shouldn't get to go on their daily walks. According to Avenues Vet Centre, based in the U.K, you can walk your dog in the cold, as long as you wrap them up warm before leaving the house.

Its first suggestion is to consider investing in dog jackets and socks, or boots, to form a barrier between them and the freezing temperatures outside. It is also advised to limit walk times to 15-20 minutes, to minimize exposure to the cold.

"Even though some dogs are more tolerant of cold weather, you should not leave them outside for long periods of time with no warm retreat," the website added.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across Instagram. It has so far received over 148,000 views and 19,300 likes on the platform.

One user, Sukuna's Object, commented: "This is how my Chihuahua mix expects me to dress him in 1C weather." And bearsm0m said: "If we're cold, they're cold. Bless your mom for taking care of these fur babies."

Jennifer Rae added: "The most Canadian dog mom thing I've ever seen. I love it."
