Ozzy Osbourne Says He Never Took Acid Again After Talking to a Horse

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed he vowed to never take LSD again after a horse spoke to him during a particularly vivid trip.

The 73-year-old rocker has opened up about swearing off acid after a horse he spoke to for an hour in a field told him to "f*** off."

"At that time in America, people were very fond of lacing your drinks with acid. I didn't care," the Black Sabbath frontman told the Daily Star newspaper. "I used to swallow handfuls of tabs at a time. The end of it came when we got back to England."

The trip took place during his heyday touring the United States with his band.

"I took 10 tabs of acid then went for a walk in a field. I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour," he said. "In the end, the horse turned round and told me to f*** off. That was it for me."

The reality TV star has battled drug and alcohol abuse and in 2020 it was reported that he had been diagnosed with a form of Parkinson's disease.

His wife Sharon Osbourne told Good Morning America at the time: "It's not a death sentence but it affects certain nerves in your body. You have a good day, a good day, then a really bad day."

The rocker added: "It's been terribly challenging for us all.

"I did my last show [on] New Year's Eve [2018]. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves."

About 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with Parkinson's every year. More than 10 million people worldwide are living with the disease.

Osbourne said that he was grateful to his fans for their support, adding: "They're my air, you know. I feel better. I've owned up to the fact that I have… a case of Parkinson's. And I just hope they hang on and they're there for me because I need them."

The rocker's LSD revelation comes after his return to the stage on August 8 in his hometown of Birmingham in England for the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony—just two months after he underwent "life changing" spinal surgery.

Speaking to The Sun about the surgery, the singer says he was "in agony" afterward.

"I was told, 'You've got a good chance of being paralyzed for the rest of your life.'

"You just don't expect the surgeon to be a f***ing butcher," Osbourne said. "I was left in agony."
