The Bataclan concert hall, site of the most devastating massacre of the 2015 Paris attacks that killed 130 people, is to re-open with a concert by Sting.
The British rock star will play a show at the venue on November 12, a day before the first anniversary of the attacks, according to his website.
"In re-opening the Bataclan, we have two important tasks to reconcile," Sting said in a statement.
"First, to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the attack a year ago, and second to celebrate the life and the music that this historic theater represents. In doing so we hope to respect the memory as well as the life-affirming spirit of those who fell. We shall not forget them," he continued.
The venue has been refurbished and security bolstered since the attack. It had originally been due to re-open with a gig by Libertines member and solo artist Peter Doherty on November 16.
Eagles of Death Metal, the band that was playing at the Bataclan on the night of the attacks, played another show elsewhere in Paris in front of survivors earlier this year.
