Rumors swirled Monday Paris Hilton had broken her engagement from fiancé Chris Zylka, and though Hilton did not immediately comment on the relationship, she did leave a potential hint on her Instagram account.

Hilton posted a cryptic caption around midnight Monday noting struggles she faced. "What made her strong was despite the million things that hurt her. She spoke of nothing but happiness," the photo caption read. The photo was an edited piece of Hilton standing in a lagoon with animated sparkles surrounding her.

Hilton and Zylka announced their engagement in January, saying they had plans for a quick wedding. They later decided to push the wedding back, the couple People in August.

Hilton noted they hadn't officially planned on marrying November 11, 2018, though many expected they would. She did say the date was in talks, though. "It was just, 11/11 is something I love because I always say, '11:11, make a wish for good luck.' So Chris was like, 'Oh let's do it on 11/11. That's such a special number for you.'"

She claimed work was the reason neither could commit to the wedding happening within the year of their engagement. "I was like yeah, but I didn't look at my schedule. Then this summer we were looking at our schedules and I was like, 'Oh my goodness we are both working nonstop until like New Year's."

Hilton is currently working as a DJ. Until February, she had a residency in Ibiza. Her last performance was in February, according to Seatgeek. Hilton also launched her own skincare line in 2018. She noted she wanted her wedding day to be special, and have her full attention. "I want to be able to be relaxed, not stressed out and not having to rush off to a different country the next day. I want to be able to go directly from my wedding to my honeymoon and with my schedule [right now] that would be impossible," she told People.

Zylka and Hilton began dating in 2017. He works as an actor and was previously seen on 90210 and HBO's The Leftovers. He also acted as the director of Hilton's 2018 "I Need You" music video, according to the Internet Movie Database, in which she appears as a pin-up type model, seemingly inspired by Marilyn Monroe and film American Beauty.
