Paris Jackson, Daughter of Michael Jackson, Says TMZ Report of Her Attempted Suicide is False

Paris Jackson, the daughter of music icon Michael Jackson, has denied an earlier report from TMZ that she was hospitalized Saturday for a suicide attempt.

In the TMZ article, an unnamed Jackson family source said the supposed suicide attempt was a result of the fallout over the recent HBO documentary Leaving Neverland, which includes graphic allegations of repeated sexual abuse of minors by the late pop superstar.

However, Paris Jackson lashed out against this report on social media, saying "f--- you you f---ing liars."

TMZ also claimed Paris Jackson was released from a Los Angeles hospital around 4:45 p.m. ET on Saturday.

According to TMZ, first responders arrived at the Jackson home Los Angeles around 7:30 a.m. local time and found Paris with "slits to her wrists," law enforcement reportedly told TMZ. She was allegedly taken to a local hospital where she was in stable condition.

A source told TMZ that this reported suicide attempt was directly related to the Leaving Neverland documentary. Paris has continued to say her father was innocent of such claims, even though she's reportedly never seen the HBO documentary.

Michael Jackson, who died in 2009, went to trial in 2005 for allegedly molesting a child at his Neverland Ranch. The King of Pop denied all allegations and was acquitted of any charges.

Leaving Neverland features two men — Wade Robson and James Safechuck — who worked closely with Jackson as children and who claim they were molested. Since its airing on HBO, several radio stations quit playing Jackson's music, and The Simpsons pulled an episode in which Michael Jackson plays a mental health patient.

Paris Jackson reportedly hasn't taken her father's death very well. First, she said in 2017 she believes her father was murdered instead of dying from a propofol overdose that was later ruled involuntary manslaughter by his personal physician.

And four years after Michael's death, Paris attempted suicide in 2013 by trying to cut her wrists. The attempt on her own life was born out of depression, drug addiction and "self-hatred," she said at the time. She claims to have tried committing suicide several times around then, according to the report.

"Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore," she told Rolling Stone.
