People Are Obsessed With How Puppy Says 'Hi' to Everyone on Walk

A 5-month-old puppy has become a viral favorite online after a video of his enthusiastic greeting for everyone he meets was shared on TikTok.

Milo, a bichon frisé and poodle mix, was recently adopted from Wise Animal Rescue in New Jersey. His new family have been sharing his antics and adventures on TikTok under the handle @milo_thepoochon, where one video has gained more than 9.3 million views in a single day. Happily adjusting to his forever home, Milo's boundless enthusiasm is clear in the video of him joyfully hopping along the street, stopping to say hi to everyone he encounters.

With each bounce, his infectious energy radiates out, as the extroverted pup mesmerizes viewers. The caption alongside the video reads: "Spreading joy one hop at a time." Newsweek reached out to @milo_thepoochon via TikTok for comment.

Socializing puppies is an essential part of their development and well-being. Introducing young dogs to new experiences, other dogs and people helps them to become well adjusted, confident and less prone to fear or aggression.

The most-important period for socialization is when a puppy is between 3 and 14 weeks of age, as this is when they are most receptive to new experiences.

Socialization makes grooming, vet exams, and handling new situations easier for dogs. However, it is important to remember that not all dogs will be as excited by new people and experiences as Milo. Positive reinforcement and taking things slowly are essential when socializing a puppy.

Puppy socialization classes can be a great way to ensure your dog gets a good start. One viral video featuring a dachshund puppy recently showed why they are a must.

Meanwhile, viewers on TikTok wanted to share their thoughts, with more than 6,200 comments.

"That's a very extroverted pup," posted one viewer, while another wrote: "I would lose my mind if I saw him coming my way."

"I'm sure you passed people who had a horrible day, and this little one made it so much better," commented another TikTok user.

As Milo's owner continues to share his progress as he meets new friends, learns to play fetch and enjoys cuddles, the TikTok account has gained more than 22,000 followers.

"So freaking cute," wrote one of Milo's new followers, while another posted: "What puppy? I only see a little bunny," referencing the adorable hops.

"The dog will bring peace to the world," added another viewer.

Earlier this year, a Rottweiler's social experience delighted the internet when people stopped to say hello to him, despite him being used to onlookers ignoring him because of his breed.
