Pete Davidson Says He Won't Kill Himself 'No Matter How Hard the Internet or Anyone Else Tries to Make Me'

Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson took to Instagram on Monday to share a message about borderline personality disorder and suicidal thoughts. The star, who recently broke off his engagement with pop star Ariana Grande, revealed he had been bullied, online and in real life, for nine months. No matter how hard the naysayers try to get him down, Davidson wrote he would remain strong.

He began the post by saying he'd been quiet. "I've kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything. I'm trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference," Davidson wrote, "especially in today's climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it truly mind-boggling."

In the second half of his message, he wrote how dating Grande has affected his self-esteem. "I've been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months. I've spoken about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don't want to be on this earth. I just want you guys to know," the comedian wrote. "No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won't. I'm upset I even have to say this. To all those holding me down and seeing this for what it is—I see you and I love you."

Davidson's post came days after Grande released the video for her hit single, "thank u, next." The tune is clearly about her former lovers and references Davidson. "Even almost got married/ And for Pete, I'm so thankful," she sings.

The video shows a page out of the Mean Girls "burn book" dedicated to Davidson. It says "Sry I dipped." The name "Pete" is in a heart and she added, "i love u always." At the bottom, the word "HUGE" in all capital letters along the bottom of the page.

Grande and Davidson ended their engagement following the death of her ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. "Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm 'cause he was an angel," she sings.

Grande also reportedly covered up a tattoo that she got for Davidson with a tribute to Miller.
