Peyton Manning Shouts at New Colts Coach Jeff Saturday in Resurfaced Clip

A video of former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning shouting at center Jeff Saturday has resurfaced after Saturday was appointed interim head coach of the Colts due to the team firing Frank Reich after more than four seasons in charge.

The appointment of Saturday, who has no coaching experience, has raised eyebrows, but it has also led fans to the moment that Manning let rip at Saturday on the sidelines.

The video has gone viral in the past 24 hours, racking up millions of views in that time.

The clip was from a 2006 game against the Rams in which Saturday queried why the Colts weren't running the ball.

Peyton took exception and told him to stop trying to call plays and get on with the job of blocking.

In the clip, Peyton screams: "Hey, quit calling the f****** plays, alright? When we pass block, BLOCK! We'll run the ball, just play f****** center."

Later, once tempers had cooled, Peyton reveals to Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley that he was mic'd up, which meant that he knew his outburst was almost certainly going to be heard by fans after the game.

Fast forward to this week, and Manning revealed during the ManningCast on Monday night that he knew nothing about the Colts' decision before he heard at the same time that everyone else did.

The Colts favorite said that he believes it will be a "big challenge" for Saturday to take over the reins.

Manning said: "I was surprised. I didn't know anything about it. I'm surprised. I talked to Jeff. It's a big challenge. Jeff's made of the right stuff—he was the ultimate teammate. My locker was right next to him. He's a high-character guy. He's a great leader."

He continued: "He's going to have to rely on these players to kind of get him comfortable and try to just get a win there in Indianapolis. A win can kind of solve a lot of things. Hopefully he can get in there and help the Colts get turned around."

Manning also said that he was "disappointed" that his "good friend" Reich was fired from the Colts after an indifferent start to the season.

He said: "It's a sad day for coaching as well. But I'm happy for Jeff and this opportunity."

The appointment of Saturday as interim head coach has not been a well-accepted move among Colts fans, but owner Jim Isray defended his decision during a press conference on Monday.

Isray said: "I'm glad he doesn't have any NFL experience. I'm glad he hasn't learned the fear that's in this league because it's tough for all our coaches.

"They're afraid, they go to analytics, and it gets difficult....He doesn't have that fear," Isray added.

Isray continued: "We don't build rockets to go to Mars. We're not nuclear scientists; that is none of our jobs here. It's a very simple job that we do here."

While Saturday may be lacking in coaching experience, during his playing career he was a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.

Since retiring in 2013, Saturday has served as an analyst for ESPN.
