The winners of the 2014 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition were announced Tuesday at a ceremony in London's Natural History Museum. The overall winning photograph by Michael 'Nick' Nichols captures five female lions resting with their cubs in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, while the overall winner for the young photographers, eight-year-old Carlos Perez Naval's photograph showed a yellow scorpion basking in the sun. A selection of the photos will be on display at London's Natural History Museum starting this Friday and will run through August 30, 2015. The competition, presented by the Natural History Museum and BBC Worldwide, is in its fiftieth year. The Duchess of Cambridge joined BBC broadcaster Sir David Attenborough, wildlife presenter Liz Bonnin and renowned wildlife photographer Frans Lanting in presenting the awards, according to the museum.
