Pokémon Go: How to Get Togedemaru

Pokémon Go continues to add new Pokémon for players to capture as part of the game's latest Season of Light. The latest is Togedemaru, a Gen 7 dual Electric and Steel monster that's also known as the "Roly Poly" Pokémon due to its rotund shape and size. It's not unique to Pokémon Go, and can be seen in other titles like Pokémon Sword and Shield, but you're definitely going to want to pick it up in this mobile entry.

Togedemaru has been made available as part of the 2022 Test Your Mettle event in Pokémon Go, taking place during the Season of Light. The event kicked off September 16 and there are several ways you can get your hands on one of the Pokémon for yourself.

If you're looking to make Togedemaru part of your Pokémon Go team but need some help figuring out how, we've got your back. Check out the possible ways to get Togedemaru during the Test Your Mettle event and you'll be glad you went ahead and took care of it before it ended.

How to get Togedemaru in Pokémon Go

You can get your own Togedemaru during the Pokémon Go Test Your Mettle event in one of four ways:

  • Participating in One-Star Raids
  • Finding Togedemaru as part of a boosted wild spawn rate occasions
  • Completing the Field Research task "Power up 5 Steel-type Pokémon"
  • Completing Stage 1 of Timed Research quest "Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge"

The quickest way to get a Togedemaru as part of this event is to simply finish the "Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge" event. You won't have to worry about getting a reward you don't want, as Togedemaru is the only one you can receive. However, it is also the option that has the least amount of time available for completion.

The Timed Research Quest will require you to finish it by Wednesday, September 21, at 8 p.m. your local time. You only need to defeat the first stage, which will net you the Pokémon you're looking for, but that's only a few days away as of publication time.

Of course, you can also complete One-Star Raids, happen upon Togedemaru by luck when catching Pokémon during boosted spawn rate periods or by powering up five Steel-type Pokémon like the Field Research task dictates. It's up to you, but we want you to work faster, not harder.

Pokémon Go is available to play on iOS and Android for free right now.
