'Pokémon Go' Psychic Event: Shiny Drowzee, Start Time and More

Niantic is bringing more Psychic-types to Pokémon Go with the Psychic Spectacular event, along with a chance to catch another Shiny Pokémon. There wasn't a lot of lead up time to the event, but from Oct. 5 -14 Pokémon Go trainers will be able to enjoy a bevy of in-game bonuses.

Here's everything you need to know to make the most out of the latest Pokémon Go event, including the start time.

POKEMON GO PSYCHIC EVENT START TIME

The Pokémon Go Psychic Spectacular event will begin Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. EDT and end on Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. EDT.

SHINY DROWZEE

Niantic confirmed on its official site that Pokémon Go players will get a chance to encounter Shiny Drowzee for the first time. Shiny Drowzee and its evolution Hypno have a drastic shift in their color scheme, going from yellow to pink, so it won't be difficult to notice.

Drowzee and Hypno join a growing list of Shiny Pokémon found in the mobile game, which includes: Bulbasaur line, Charmander line, Squirtle line, Chikorita line, Pikachu line, Dratini line, Eevee line, Houndour line, Poochyena line, Krabby line, Magikarp line, Mareep line, Growlithe line, Geodude line, Grimer line, Shellder line, Magmar line, Omanyte line, Kabuto line, Aerodactyl, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Togepi line, Natu line, Sunkern line, Murkrow, Wobbuffet, Pineco line, Snubbull line, Larvitar line, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Wingull line, Makuhita line, Sableye, Mawile, Absol, Aron line, Meditite line, Plusle, Minun, Roselia, Wailmer line, Swablu line, Shuppet line, Duskull line, Snorunt line, Luvdisc and Kyogre.

OTHER BONUSES

The percentage of Psychic-type spawns will increase during the event. Here are the Pokémon that will appear more often in the wild:

  • Abra
  • Slowpoke
  • Slowbro
  • Drowzee
  • Natu
  • Ralts
  • Spoink
  • Baltoy

The other in-game bonus is new Field Research focused on the Psychic-type. Once the event goes live, we will update with the new Field Research and rewards.
