The latest Legendary Pokémon distribution in 2018 features two from the Kalos Region. Xerneas and Yveltal are the embodiment of life and death in the Pokémon universe, and trainers will have a chance to download one of them in the month of May.
From May 4 to May 27, fans can visit participating GameStop locations in the U.S. to get a code for Yveltal and Xerneas. However, unless you have both versions of the Gen 7 Pokémon games you will only be able to choose one of these Legendary Pokémon to download.
SHOULD YOU CHOOSE XERNEAS OR YVELTAL?
Xerneas can only be downloaded to Pokémon Ultra Moon or Moon versions. If you decide to download the Fairy-type to Pokémon Moon, it'll come at level 60 with the moves Geomancy, Horn Leech, Night Slash and Moon Blast. If Ultra Moon is your choice, Xerneas will be downloaded at level 100 and holding the Gold Bottle Cap. It will come with the moves Geomancy, Focus Blast , Grass Knot and Moon Blast.
Conversely, Yveltal can only be downloaded to Pokémon Ultra Sun or Sun versions. Downloading to Sun will have the Dark and Flying-type arrive at level 60 with the moves Oblivion Wing, Dark Pulse, Phantom Force and Psychic. Bringing the Legendary to Ultra Sun will have it at level 100, holding a Gold Bottle Cap and come with the moves Oblivion Wing, Dark Pulse, Heat Wave and Tailwind.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD XERNEAS OR YVELTAL
If you're in the U.S., head to your local GameStop location and ask for a code from the front desk. No purchase is necessary to obtain a card containing the Xerneas and Yveltal code, so simply ask for one.
- Boot up either your Pokémon Sun/Moon or Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon game and select "Mystery Gift" on the main menu.
- Select "Receive Gift"
- Select "Get with Code/Password and connect to the internet
- Enter the code on the GameStop card
Once connected, Xerneas or Yveltal will be transferred to your Pokémon game. Head over to your nearest Pokémon Center and speak to the man in the yellow and blue shirt, he will give you the Kalos Legendary Pokémon you downloaded, but only if you have a spot open in your party.
The Pokémon Company will be distributing various Legendary Pokémon for most of 2018. These special distributions started in March and end in November. Here's the list of Pokémon scheduled to be distributed each month.
June - Shiny Zygarde
July - Tornadus & Thundurus
August - Kyogre & Groudon
September - Latios & Latias
October - Reshiram & Zekrom
November - Ho-Oh & Lugia
