Where to Find Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Breeding is a great way to get your hands on more Pokemon of the same species, and it can be one of the most tried-and-true ways to get your hands on shiny starter Pokemon like Fuecoco, Sprigatito and Quaxly.

But, if you're planning to breed Pokemon, you're going to need both a male and a female of the species. Or you can always use a Ditto. If you're looking to make use of this second method, here's how to find a Ditto easily in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to Find Ditto in 'Pokemon Scarlet and Violet'

Finding a Ditto in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. First, you're going to want to make your way over toward West Province Area Two and West Province Area Three.

Ditto can exclusively be found in these sections of Paldea, but finding it isn't as easy as running around until you spot one.

You'll need to encounter various Pokemon to find the Ditto lurking within their natural habitat as they like to disguise themselves as other Pokemon. To find out which Pokemon are Ditto, you'll want to approach... The Pokemon Company

Unlike exclusive Pokemon like Bagon or even Pokemon Scarlet's Larvitar, Ditto disguises itself as other Pokemon to remain hidden from predators and trainers alike. This means that you'll need to challenge pretty much any Pokemon that you see within these areas for a chance at finding this useful breeding Pokemon.

To find out which Pokemon are Ditto, you'll want to approach them and start a battle. If the Pokemon is a Ditto, it will reveal its true form on the first turn, allowing you to leave the battle or end it quickly if it isn't a Ditto.

While finding a Ditto might be a bit frustrating, you can focus your efforts on areas like the coastline and grasslands north of Porto Marinada. This region is full of Murkrow and Grimer, which can often be disguised Ditto waiting to be found out.

Ultimately, though, the hunt for this Pokemon comes down to a little patience and (possibly) a lot of Pokemon battles.

If you're having trouble getting your hands on a Ditto, don't worry, as this low encounter rate is normal.

Ditto technically only has a 20 percent chance of appearing in your encounter, but you can always try to make a sandwich if you want to improve the chances and possibility of running into this sought-after Pokemon.

There are, of course, tons of other new Pokemon to find out there, too, and some that you can even make use of trade codes for a better chance of acquiring.
