It's been a week since the announcement of Pokémon Sword and Shield, but a fake gun logo has found its way into the news. According to Cin Ceja on Twitter, the Mexican newspaper La Voz de Michoacan wrote about Pokémon Sword and Shield but the graphic accompanying the story included the logo for Pokémon Gun ….a made-up game.

In La Voz de Michoacan 's defense, the actual story on Sword and Shield makes no mention of this fake game but there seems to have been a disconnect between the editorial and graphics team, which was fooled by the convincingly realistic meme
The Pokémon Gun logo was created by Sir5000 and, to their credit, is a very believable mock up that uses the wolf head from the actual Sword and Shield logos along with the font and style of the originals.
The Pokémon Gun logo has been shared and re-posted over social media since Gen 8 was announced on February 27 and spawned some funny new versions including: Pokémon Nunchuk, Pokémon Grenade, Pokémon Chainsaw and last but not least, Pokémon Tactical Nuke.
What is real about Gen 8 is that it takes place in the Galar region, which is based on Great Britain. The Starter Pokémon for Sword and Shield are Grookey, the Grass-type, Scorbunny, the Fire-type, and Sobble the Water-type.
Fans will also see Pokémon from other regions appear in the Galar region. The first Sword and Shield trailer showed these Pokémon: Hoothoot, Pikachu, Wishiwashi, Lucario, Tyranitar, Wailmer, Munchlax, Grubbin, Zweilous, Braviary and Flygon.
Random encounters are back after Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee had wild Pokémon in the overworld, allowing for trainers to avoid them or try and catch what they are looking for. From the looks of the first trailer, it seems that Pokémon following the trainer is gone but it may be a feature that will be shown at a later date.
Pokémon Sword and Shield is set to release on Nintendo Switch in late 2019.
