'Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon:' Zeraora GameStop Event Starts in October

Trainers outside Japan have waited patiently for their chance to get Mythical Pokémon Zeraora, and The Pokémon Company announced the distribution event for the Electric-type Pokémon will begin in October.

To celebrate the Nov. 2 release of Lost Thunder, the latest expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, serial codes will be distributed in participating GameStops from Oct. 19 to Nov. 9.

Unlike the other distributions that celebrate Legendary Pokémon, Zeraora can only be downloaded onto either Pokémon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. Zeraora will come with the following stats:

  • Level: 50
  • Moves: Plasma Fists, Thunder Punch, Close Combat, Thunder
  • Ability: Volt Absorb
  • Held Item: Air Balloon

Like other distributions, Zeraora can be soft-reset to get the desired Individual Values (IVs) and Nature. Zeraora has a high base attack, speed and special attack stats so trainers will want to try and get a Nature that boosts one of those.

We'd suggest trainers try to get a Jolly (raises speed, decreases special attack) or Adamant (raises attack, decreases special attack) Natured Zeraora with IVs that max out at least the speed and attack stats. Of course, Pokémon trainers can max out all of Zeraora's IVs with Gold Bottle Caps.
