Pokemon Violet: All Version-Exclusive Pokemon

While there are many differences between Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet, perhaps one of the biggest is the version-exclusive Pokemon that you can find and capture. There are a number of Pokemon that are exclusive to each version of the game, though only a few have been confirmed so far, including each game's Legendary Pokemon, Koraidon and Miraidon.

You should already have a good idea of what to expect for version-exclusive Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet, but now it is time to take a look at all the new Pokemon exclusively available in Pokemon Violet. This will not only help you decide which version to pick up before the game's release date this week, but it will also help you be better informed about what kind of Pokemon to expect when you're out exploring the Paldea region.

Here's a list of all the version-exclusive Pokemon available in Pokemon Violet:

  • Bagon
  • Shelgon
  • Salamence
  • Eiscue
  • Ceruledge
  • Miraidon
  • Iron Treads

Of course, it is important to remember that at least one of these Pokemon, Miraidon, won't be tradeable, as it is a Legendary Pokemon that acts as a mount within the game, too. You'll use this special Pokemon to explore the various biomes and areas within the Paldea region, so expect to spend a lot of time with it.

It is also possible that some or many of the exclusive Pokemon seen in the new games will be evolutions or special forms of Pokemon that already exist within the franchise.

As far as the other exclusive Pokemon go, both Pokemon Violet and Pokemon Scarlet have their own theme. So, while the games may be very similar, Violet offers a more futuristic theme for many of its exclusive Pokemon. On the opposite side of things, Pokemon Scarlet offers a more past-like or prehistoric approach to many of its Pokemon, which is why we see such huge differences between the game's two main Legendary Pokemon, Miraidon and Koraidon.

When Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on November 28, 2022, players will get to dive in and explore a brand-new region and generation of Pokemon. There have been a ton of leaks surrounding the two new entries in the beloved franchise, though Nintendo has not confirmed any of those leaks.

This article will be updated as more version-exclusive Pokemon are discovered within Pokemon Violet, and you can refer to Newsweek's guide on the version-exclusive Pokemon available in Pokemon Scarlet for more information about those Pokemon.
