Anti-gentrification protesters clashed with police in Berlin on Sunday, leaving 123 officers injured and 86 people arrested.
Some 3,500 protesters marched through Friedrichshain, a rapidly gentrifying area in the east of the city.
The march, which saw 1,800 police deployed, according to the BBC, began peacefully but descended into violence.
Authorities began evicting squatters in the area in June, but some have refused to leave, leading to escalating tensions in a rapidly changing part of the city.
