What's the Difference Between Poosh and Goop? Kourtney Kardashian Website Launch Compared to Gwyneth Paltrow's Controversial Lifestyle Brand

Kourtney Kardashian launched her new lifestyle website, Poosh, on Tuesday, and the brand immediately generated comparisons to another well-known beauty and wellness brand: Goop. Twitter users in the Poosh launch conversation spent Tuesday questioning the differences between the lifestyle websites, and claimed Kardashian's latest venture may just be a knockoff.

The goal of Poosh is to "educate, motivate, create and curate a modern lifestyle, achievable by all," the mission statement reads. In a blurb about the site, written by Kardashian, she explained she felt something was "missing in the healthy lifestyle space." Though Kardashian is known for embracing a more pared-down, natural vibe than her make-up mogul sisters, some are having a hard time buying Kardashian's idea is wholly unique.

An undeniably similar concept, Goop is owned and operated by actor Gwenyth Paltrow. The site, which also has a corresponding skincare line, podcast and magazine, acts as a blog and product reference for all things lifestyle and clean-beauty living. Paltrow's healthy hub has sparked controversy in the past for suggesting arguably unhealthy or off-the-wall wellness alternatives, like vagina steaming and vaginal eggs, as well as enlisting the authority of medical experts who are not accredited medical doctors, or who advocate unusual beliefs.

Though Kardashian's website is similar to Paltrow's, so far, it's managed to avoid the cutting-edge controversy. From what Poosh has shown in its first 24 hours, it reads like a typical lifestyle blog with suggested products and highlighted moments of Kardashian's personal life. The goal of the site seems to be to provide the public with ways to copy the coveted Kardashian lifestyle that the name itself exudes.

Along with having a similar overall concept to Goop, the Poosh logo has prompted discussion online. Both sites have a simple and sleek black font. In Kardashian's logo, the two O's in the name are tilted to the left.

Some fans dismissed Poosh as a revamped iteration of Kardashian's soon-to-be-offline free app, while others compained that while Poosh aims to promote a lifestyle "achievable by all," that's far from the truth for those who don't have access to Kardashian-level funding.
