Powerball Results, Numbers for 1/23/19: Did Anyone Win The $144 Million Jackpot on Wednesday (Last) Night?

Powerball's most recent drawing on Wednesday night was worth $144 million with a cash option of $86.6 million. Did anyone get lucky and win the jackpot prize?

Wednesday night's drawing was held on Wednesday night at 11 p.m. EST. The winning numbers were 23-25-47-48-50, Powerball 24, and Power Play 3X, according to the Powerball website. Although no one won last night's jackpot, one person from California matched all five of the winning numbers and won one million dollars, according to the lottery website.

The next Powerball drawing will be held on Saturday night at 11 p.m. EST. Since no one hit the jackpot, the lottery prize is now worth $161 million with a cash option of $96.8 million, the lottery website states.

The Powerball lottery is the largest game played across the U.S., according to the lottery website. The drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m. There are nine different ways to play Powerball, with the jackpot starting at $40 million and raises each drawing until someone finally wins the jackpot, the Powerball website states.

A man from West Virginia was the last person to claim a Powerball prize. Stanis Tabler from Charles Town, West Virginia, won one million dollars during the January 9 drawing. Tabler told lottery officials he had purchased the winning ticket at a gas station in Martinsburg.

"I play the Lottery weekly, but I play Lotto America regularly and do not play Powerball that often," Tabler previously told lottery officials. "I cashed in my Lotto America tickets and won $20. So, on a whim, I just told the cashier to give me $20 in Powerball tickets and that is how I won."

Tabler told lottery officials that he would use his winnings to go on vacation with his wife to Hawaii so they can celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary.

"I took her out to breakfast for her birthday on Saturday and had balloons for her. I gave her a framed photograph of me holding the giant check and told her Happy Birthday, this is what every woman wants. A picture of me," Tabler previously told lottery officials. "She was shocked and couldn't believe it when I told her. She said it was the best birthday ever."

Playing Powerball only costs $2 a ticket, according to the website. Players who want to try and double their earnings can add Power Play for an additional dollar.
