Influencer Shares $50 Dupe for $1,200 Prada Shoes

There's a secret hack to buy a Prada lookalike shoe for just $50, and it will save you over a thousand bucks, a TikTok influencer has revealed.

Considering many Americans are struggling to pay inflated prices across the board from rent to food and utilities, most are looking for ways to cut costs. Sure, we can adjust our thermostats and watch our grocery budgets, but we can't control interest rates and surcharges, which means many of the top designer fashions are simply too expensive for most budgets this year.

But the holiday seasons, filled with gatherings and parties (which all happen shortly after Fashion Week), are a time when a lot of us look to jazz up our wardrobe and stay in step with the trends.

The Prada brushed leather monolith loafers might retail for $1,270, but you can still have the look without the cost, said Sarah, the woman behind the @Styled_LikeThis TikTok account.

"This one from Macy's is the closest that I found, and I searched for a while," Sarah said in a recent video.

The Macy's BAR III Paz Lug Sole Loafer might only be around $50, but it comes with the same chunky soles that are on fashion influencers everywhere you look, Sarah said.

Another option is on Amazon for $89.99 for those looking for the same plush leather and large chunky sole. The item in question is called the Beau Today Penny Loafers for Women Lug Sole Chunky Slip-On Shoes.

Asos also has a somewhat similar item, Sarah said.

"It strays a little bit because the bottom is a little bit wider, but it's still super cute and has the same sort of vibe to it," the TikToker said of the $49 shoe dupe option.

"Every season there are items that show up absolutely everywhere and take over social feeds," Sarah told Newsweek. "All the 'it girls' have them but no one can actually afford them."

This fall, it was about the Prada loafer, but make no mistake: there are plenty of other budget-friendly high-end looks to take advantage of.

Other Dupes

If you're a fan of other kinds of fancy footwear but still don't have the money to splurge on them, Sarah has plenty of other tips.

Those looking to replicate the Lug Boot from Bottega Veneta might not want to pay for its $2,200 price tag, but fortunately for budget-savvy shoppers, there's a Uniqlow option for $79.90. DSW also had a similar option priced at $69.99 called the London Rag Axle Boot.

But another iconic look this season is the Toteme knee-high crocodile boot with a kitten heel from Farfetch.

"It's such a great boot to transition between fall, winter and spring," Sarah said.

The only issue? It has a price of $1,130. But Sarah said an NA-KD version is selling for just $99.95 or even a brown version from Free People for $248.

Each season brings an array of new styles to test out, but Sarah also said there are certain fall looks you should definitely avoid from yesteryear.

Round-toe pumps might be better replaced with a pointy-toe slingback, Sarah said.

"These are so chic," she said. "These honestly just look so sexy on. They lengthen your foot with the pointy toe, and it just makes it look long and sleek."

There are plenty of affordable fall jackets you can grab at NA-KD as well, Sarah advised her viewers.

A chocolate brown Teddy Detail PU Coat that goes down to your ankles is perfect for this season and retails at $139.95, Sarah said. But if a long coat isn't your aesthetic, you can opt for the Bonded Teddy Detail Jacket for the same price.

"I absolutely adore this leather version," Sarah said. "I also love that it's kind of the fit of the jean jacket but a little thicker. I would throw a little hoodie under this, so cute."

Another option is the Tweed Bold Coat from the same brand for roughly $150.

"I love a big, bold coat," Sarah said. "So much drama, especially in this tweed. It's just gorgeous."
