How To Get The Best Deal on Amazon
There are some clever tricks to help users get the best out of the Prime Day deals, from app plug-ins to helpful hacks.
Amazon Assistant plug-in
Most browsers have access to the Amazon Assistant plug-in, which helps you compare products and prices.
As well as this, if you're looking for specific items, it will send notifications when deals go live, meaning you're more likely to get the thing you want at the cheapest price.
It will generate shortcuts to your browser so you can see Amazon items when they become available. The assistant does allow Amazon to track browsing behavior.
Join the waitlist
On the Amazon website and app, there are Lightning Deal items that often sell out pretty fast.
Items are deleted from a person's cart after 15 minutes if purchases aren't completed, which means for those who join the waitlist, they will be alerted if an item becomes available again.
You will be told where you are in the line and when your turn comes up to make a purchase.

On the Amazon app, you can get a sneak peek of deals that are due to come up, and shoppers can even get notifications of Lightning Deals before they are active so they can join the waitlist straight away.
As well as jumping on deals as they arise, shoppers can also create a watchlist for deals, meaning they are notified when new deals pop up for items they like.
Price compare
Other than Amazon, many other brands have launched competing sales to coincide with Prime Day.
Walmart, Target and Best Buy are among these, with the latter trying to rival Amazon's tech deals.
Roku Express is on sale at Best Buy for $29.99, while Office Depot is selling an Acer Chromebook at 25 percent off, at just $169.99.
To find this, a variety of price comparison apps are available to download as Chrome extensions, as well as going about it the old-fashioned way and searching through the different websites.

Get $20 Off with $40 in the Amazon Shopping App
Eligible Prime members who sign in to the Amazon shopping app for the first time and make a purchase will receive $20 off their next purchase of $40 or more in the app.
If they purchase their second basket worth $40 or more before 11.50 p.m. on June 22, they will receive a second $20 off voucher, for $40 off altogether.
Get 2 months of Amazon Prime Video channels for $1.98
Amazon Prime Video has many subchannels, many of which are now available for just 99¢ for the first two months.
Channels included in the pre-Prime Day deals include Showtime, Starz, Paramount Plus and Acorn TV.
Any subscription bought at this price will auto-renew at the regular price after two months.
Amazon-branded goods
The most heavily discounted items are Amazon-branded products, with the Echo Dot and Fire-enabled TVs on sale starting at $99.99.
Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst at shopping comparison website DealNews, told Consumer Reports: "Prime Day is an event to celebrate Amazon's Prime members, so the best offers are frequently on Amazon's own products.
"There's no reason to expect this year to be any different."
Heavily-discounted technology
As well as Amazon-branded goods, other brands are also heavily discounted on Prime Day, especially in the tech world.
Apple AirPods with a charging case have 25 percent off, with the sale price at $119.99.
As well as that, the Facebook Portal went on sale for $99, saving shoppers $80.
One of the best-reviewed LG-compatible gaming monitors on the site is also heavily discounted from $379.99 to $299.99, while the Samsung HW-T650 soundbar is available for $199.99 from $399.99.
What Is Prime Day?
Prime Day is an annual shopping event that started in 2015, to commemorate Amazon's 20th anniversary.
Originally, the brand originally said the promotion would see new deals being added every 10 minutes and that it would be bigger than Black Friday.
Every year Amazon has introduced more discounts, and now the Prime Day deals go on for two days instead of one.
In 2018, Amazon introduced a concert event headlined by Ariana Grande before the discounts went live, which was streamed on Amazon Video and Twitch.
In 2019 the concert was even bigger, being launched five days before the shopping event.
It was streamed exclusively for Prime subscribers and featured Dua Lipa, SZA, Becky G and Taylor Swift.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Prime Day was moved to October, and has been canceled indefinitely in Canada.
However, it is back in the U.S. in 2021, with two days of discounts to enjoy, and an estimated 2 million items will be discounted, twice as many as 2020.
