Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have unveiled their official portrait ahead of Camilla's 70th birthday on Monday.

The portrait, showing the heir to the British throne and his wife in the morning room of their London home, Clarence House, was taken by photographer Mario Testino, known for his glamorous portraits of the rich and famous.

The Duchess marked her birthday over the weekend with a private party at Highgrove House, the couple's family home in Gloucestershire. On Thursday, she celebrated in London with the many charities she patronizes.

Testino previously photographed Charles and Camilla in 2006 on their first wedding anniversary, and took the official engagement photographs of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge in 2010.

Among his best-known pictures are a series of informal portraits of the late Princess Diana that were taken months before her death in 1997.

In a statement, the Peruvian said that when he first met Camilla for her 2006 portrait, he "discovered a kind and beautiful person with a wonderful sense of humor."

He added: "I'm honored to document their royal highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on this very important date."
