Princess Charlotte's 'Royal Superstar' Moments Go Viral

Princess Charlotte—the only daughter of William and Kate, the Prince and Princess of Wales—has become the focus of a new viral video, as footage from her recently increased number of high profile public appearances has been shared to social media site TikTok.

Charlotte was born in May 2015 and is William and Kate's second child, currently third in the line of succession to inherit the British throne.

The princess has seen her public profile increase since the death of her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, being seen at several high profile royal events, including the coronation of her grandfather, King Charles III in May 2023.

In addition to the royal ceremonial aspects of her life, Charlotte also made her Wimbledon Tennis Championship debut in 2023, appearing as a spectator for the first time alongside her parents and older brother, Prince George.

Uploaded to TikTok by user princesscharlottedits, on December 28, a compilation of clips taken of Charlotte at several events has gone viral, reaching over half a million views in just six days.

One clip that is focused on is the princess' historic curtsy during the September 2022 state funeral of Queen Elizabeth. Charlotte performed the traditional royal gesture of respect alongside other senior female members of her family as the late queen's coffin left Westminster Abbey for its journey to Windsor where it was placed in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at St George's Chapel.

Another clip shows Charlotte meeting members of the public on Christmas Day during the royal family's annual walkabout after attending church at the monarch's Sandringham estate.

The princess undertook the walkabout for the first time in 2019 and in 2023 was photographed chatting to well-wishers and accepting a bouquet of flowers with Prince William.

Also included is footage showing the princess interacting with her younger brother, Prince Louis, who she has been seen guiding through royal events. In one clip, Charlotte is spotted lowering Louis' hand during the Trooping the Colour celebrations in June 2023, at a moment during the royal carriage procession through London where they had stopped waving to the crowds.

The viral clip has received in excess of 55,000 likes and over 120 comments so far, many of which have praised Charlotte and her composure in the face of the public's gaze.

"She's going to be a force, beautiful and strong like the rest of the women in her family," wrote one TikTok user.

"She's a royal superstar in the making," posted another, with a further comment reading: "Charlotte looks so beautiful."

The princess will celebrate her ninth birthday on May 2, 2024.
