PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Target, Antonline and More

PS5 restocks have been happening sporadically throughout January, but things appear to be slowing back down.

The likes of Walmart, Amazon, and Target have all coordinated drops semi-recently. Yet it seems that the console supplies are now depleted once again.

That being said, console trackers are forecasting at least one drop for the week ahead.

Here is the latest information for every major retailer in the United States.

GameStop PS5 Restock

As we mentioned in our previous update, GameStop branches across the nation were selling PS5s units on Friday, January 14. This was an in-store only event, meaning that you had to physically travel to one of the participating outlets if you were interested in making a purchase.

GameStop has not been taking online orders for the PS5 since December 28, 2021. Reputable tracker @SupplyNinja (who was among the first to report on last week's sale) has indicated that this might change soon, with a possible restock taking place on Wednesday.

According to their tweet, the imminent drop could be for either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X. To be alerted as soon as it happens, we recommend that you follow @SupplyNinja on Twitter, as they always issue prompt and accurate updates.

Walmart PS5 Restock

It has been observed by expert console trackers that Walmart adheres to a fortnightly restock schedule.

This is obviously not a hard and fast rule (as there are sometimes deviations from the pattern), but it's often accurate.

Generally speaking, the Walmart PS5 drops take place every other Thursday at 3 p.m. ET. Given that this already happened last week, the next restock is expected in the afternoon of January 27.

Amazon PS5 Restock

Amazon has not released any new PS5 supplies since December 30.

The online marketplace usually waits at least a month between drops, so the next one could be happening in the final week of January. Newsweek will continue to monitor the situation in these PS5 restock updates.

Target PS5 Restock

Target is no longer synchronizing its console drops nationwide.

This means that you now have to make a habit of checking the console's availability at stores in your nearby area. After all, they could restock at any given moment.

You can do so by heading to the Target website and searching for a PS5. When you do this, make sure to enter your ZIP-code into the relevant search field, so that you only get results for nearby branches.

We have found that it is best to check this first thing in the morning, as that's when most Target stores will update their inventories.

Best Buy PS5 Restock

You are currently unable to get a PlayStation 5 from Best Buy.

Both the disc and digital editions of the console are displaying as "sold out" on the website, and there is no word on when these will next be restocked.

For timely updates on the situation, we recommend that you follow dedicated console trackers like @GYXdeals and @Wario64 on Twitter and turn on notifications.

Antonline PS5 Restock

Antonline replenished its PS5 inventory on Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET.

The console was briefly available from the merchant, in a $789.95 bundle. While that might seem like a lot of money, the deal included an extra DualSense controller, a Pulse 3D headset, a 12-month PS Plus membership, and a year's subscription to the PlayStation Now service as well.

Although this bundle managed to stay up for a few minutes (given that shoppers are often less prepared for Antonline drops) it is now completely sold out.

On the plus side, there are still a few Xbox Series S units available to purchase on the website. Our separate restock update for Microsoft's hardware contains more details on these.

Sam's Club PS5 Restock

Sam's Club is not selling the PS5 right now either, but it does have a couple of its own Xbox Series S bundles up for grabs.

The cheaper of these two options will see the less-powerful console ship with a wired headset and a PDP media remote (priced at $379.98).

Alternatively, you can buy a more expensive bundle that comes with a spare controller, a headset and vouchers for both Fortnite and Rocket League (priced at $399.98).

Newegg PS5 Restock

It's always worth checking the daily Newegg Shuffle to see if any next-gen consoles are featured there. This lottery resets every 24 hours at 11 a.m. ET.

If a PS5 does become available, then you can enter for a chance at placing an order. The winners are randomly selected here, so you needn't worry about being especially quick on the draw like with other restocks.

The Newegg Shuffle for Wednesday, January 19 does not feature either the Xbox Series X or the PS5. Instead, its contents are largely related to PC gaming components.

PS Direct PS5 Restock

When it comes to getting a PS5 from Sony's official storefront, you will need an explicit invitation before you can join any virtual queues. These links are sent out to registered email addresses with associated PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts.

Newsweek has prepared a guide on how these unusual PS Direct restocks work and what you can do to be considered for them in the future.

Costco PS5 Restock

The chances of getting a PS5 from Costco are always slim, as the merchant isn't really known for selling gaming systems. In fact, there hasn't been a restock here since October 2021.

If a surprise drop occurs in the near future, then the likes of @GYXdeals, @SupplyNinja or @Wario64 will broadcast updates to their Twitter followers.
