Puppy Immediately Suspicious After Meeting Cats for the First Time: 'Why?'

A pet owner has delighted the internet after sharing a clip of her cats inspecting the little puppy she just brought home, which quickly went viral on social media.

The clip, shared on TikTok on Thursday under the username nanol.and.friends, shows the four ginger cats surrounding the box with the little puppy inside, sniffing him and staring at him as if trying to examine him.

The little schnauzer puppy can be seen looking at her owner, unsure about what is happening and why all these cats are sniffing her.

The heartwarming post comes with a caption that says: "My cat first meeting their new sibling, Somet." Followed by: "She is so 'why are they sniffing me?'"

Despite popular belief, cats and dogs can live together without any issues, and they can even become best of friends, as long as their first introduction is done the right way.

Newsweek previously explained that taking things slowly will help to avoid bad first impressions.

They will each need their own space in the house where they can stay away from each other, and isolate as needed. It's even better if these spaces are at different ends of the home.

It is also essential to not let them interact without supervision until they're comfortable enough in each other's presence. If you notice defensive behaviors, such as hissing or growling, it means you need to take a step back and give them more time.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 6.5 million views and 1.2 million likes on the platform.

One user, copequake, commented: "You've got no business having this many orange cats. Omg." And Jon'e Hopson said: "Why are they judging him like that." Scarlet Witch added: "Puppy: Mom... come pick me up please."

Another user, JESSICA ORTEGA, commented: "Dang, the first one don't know what personal space is all up in his ears."

Galen_Cook wrote: "In house full of orange cats! Poor thing is gonna be crazy." And Julie Medina said: "He is contemplating life having four cat siblings he's just looking for hiding places."

Newsweek has reached out to nanol.and.friends for comment via TikTok chat and Instagram chat. We could not verify the details of the video.
