A search party trying to locate a missing farmer found his body whole inside a giant python in Indonesia, according to local reports.

Akbar Salubiro, from the village of West Sulawesi, disappeared Sunday on his way to harvest palm oil. Villagers searching for Akbar became suspicious when they spotted a large snake moving in an awkward fashion.

"We were immediately suspicious that the snake had swallowed Akbar because around the site we found palm fruit, his harvesting tool and a boot," said Salubiro Junaidi, a senior village official, The Guardian reported.

The 22 foot-long python had eaten the man whole, presumably while he was on his way to work.

"Residents cut open the belly of the snake and Akbar was lifeless. People had heard cries from the palm grove the night before Akbar was found in the snake's stomach," Asian Correspondent reported.

The 25-year-old's boots were clearly visible from the outside of the snake, the Tribun Timur reported [warning—link contains graphic image]. The villagers then cut the python's skin back to reveal the body of Akbar, intact.

Reticulated pythons, such as this one, suffocate their victims before eating them whole.

Akbar's wife only found out her husband was dead after seeing a local news report.
