Queen Elizabeth Hiring Someone to Tweet, Manage Social Media

The Queen doesn't tweet, so she's hiring someone who is good at it. Buckingham Palace is hiring a digital communications manager who is well-versed in social media, digital communications and doesn't mind keeping Queen Elizabeth II in the public eye.

This includes dignitaries from around the world visiting the Royal Palace, or something as small as an awards ceremony.

"Whether you're covering a state visit, award ceremony or Royal engagement, you'll make sure our digital channels consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences," the job description says on the Royal Household's website.

Here's the link to apply, of which you can do through LinkedIn or Google.

The job description goes on to say the Royal Household is looking for a "natural communicator" who enjoys working with a small team.

"Abreast of the latest digital communication developments, you'll put forward and support new ideas to increase our presence on social platforms," it states about the role of this position. It goes on to say they seek someone "innovative and with creative flair, you'll also have accurate and compelling written and editorial skills, with expertise in designing digital content for different audience groups, purpose and formats."

Good photography skills are a plus, it adds.

The job pays 30,000 euros, which equates to roughly $33,500 U.S. dollars.

Beyond salary, there's rubbing against royalty that cannot be taken off the resume. And other main duties in the role include keeping the Queen and her family in the worldwide spotlight.

"The role of Royal Communications is to engage a worldwide audience with the public role and work of The Royal Family," the job states. "Joining this fast paced and dynamic team, your challenge will be to manage and oversee the daily news flow on digital and social networking platforms, as well as play a key part in some of the digital projects.

"Working as part of a small team of digital media specialists, you'll create content for social networking and digital platforms, including our newly launched website, as well as researching and writing feature articles.

"Whether you're covering a state visit, award ceremony or Royal engagement, you'll make sure our digital channels consistently spark interest and reach a range of audiences."

The applications are probably flowing in throughout the world. Now it comes down to the selection.
