R. Kelly Former Manager to Turn Himself in Following 'Terroristic Threats' Against Alleged Victim's Family: Report

R. Kelly's former manager is expected to turn himself in to authorities in response to an arrest warrant issued over threats he made against the family of Joycelyn Savage. James Mason will reportedly surrender to police in Henry County, Georgia, according to The Blast.

An arrest warrant was issued against Mason after he allegedly threatened to kill Savage's family, who have been aggressively outspoken on Kelly's alleged abuse against women. Savage's family has claimed the R&B singer is holding her in his properties against her free will—an accusation Savage has previously denied—and recently spoke out against Kelly in Lifetime's docuseries, Surviving R. Kelly.

Mason was cited for "terroristic threats and acts" against Savage's family in response to their statements about Kelly. Gerald Griggs, the Savage family's lawyer, confirmed to The Blast they had been contacted by the District Attorney in regards to Mason's warrant and asked if they would agree to a bail option being presented to the man once he turned himself in.

Griggs said the family didn't object Mason's option for bond. However, the Savages did request a restraining order be issued to keep Mason from having contact with them.

Mason allegedly made threats against Joceylyn Savage's father, Timothy Savage, back in May 2018, according to a CNN report. "I'm going to do harm to you and your family, when I see you I'm gonna get you. I'm going to f**king kill you," Mason was quoted as saying in a police report, obtained and reported by CNN on January 9.

Joycelyn Savage's family first accused Kelly of holding her in a sex cult against her free will in a Buzzfeed article in 2017. The Savages expounded on their claims in the Lifetime docuseries, which included several other interviews with women accusing Kelly of sexual, physical and mental assault.
