Rally for Relief: Where to Watch Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Other Tennis Stars in Australia Bushfires Relief Fundraiser

Some of the world's best tennis players are set to join forces and raise funds for the bushfires that have devastated Australia.

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka are among the stars taking part in AO Rally for Relief, a fundraiser exhibition match that will take place in Melbourne on Wednesday, January 15.

Australia has been ravaged by bushfires, with 27 lives lost across the country, and 10.7 million hectares burnt.

According to an estimate from the University of Sydney, approximately one billion animals have been killed.

In Victoria, 353 homes and 548 other structures have been lost, with 1.4 million hectares have been burnt since November 21.

The Rally for Relief match is part of the Aces for Bushfire Relief campaign, an initiative that has seen $100 donated for every ace served at the ATP tournaments recently held in Australia.

"This unprecedented bushfire crisis is devastating people, properties, communities, livestock and animals across the country and our hearts go out to all those affected," Tennis Australia CEO and Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said in a statement.

"We felt it was vital we use all our events across the summer to make a meaningful contribution to help these people and communities rebuild their lives. The response from the tennis community—our players, clubs, partners and international tennis bodies—has been overwhelming and it's wonderful to see everyone pull together."

The Aces for Bushfire Relief initiative will also cover the Australian Open, which is due to begin on January 20. However, it may come under threat from poor air quality.

On Tuesday, Dalila Jakupovic collapsed at Melbourne Park during her qualifying match against Switzerland's Stefanie Vögele with a coughing fit and was subsequently forced to retire.

Earlier in the day, practice at the complex had been suspended due to the poor air quality and Canada's Eugenie Bouchard was forced to call several medical timeouts during her qualifying match against China's Xiaodi You.

According to the Environmental Protection Authority, the air in Melbourne and surrounding areas in Victoria was the worst in the world on Tuesday.

Last week, Djokovic, who is the ATP Player Council president, admitted players were concerned by potential health hazards due to the poor air quality.

"It is tough for them because the schedule has to be respected, the Australian Open starts at a certain time so there are a lot of things involved," he said.

"But a health concern is a health concern for anybody."

What is AO Rally for Relief?

Rally for Relief is an exhibition match featuring some of the biggest players in world tennis and aimed at raising funds for the bushfire relief cause.

AO Rally for Relief is part of the broader Aces for Bushfire Relief program, launched by Tennis Australia last week.

The initiative has seen $100 donated for every ace served at the ATP Cup matches in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney and at the Adelaide International, Brisbane International, Hobart International and Canberra International.

The Aces for Bushfire Relief campaign will also apply to the Australian Open, which begins next week.

When is AO Rally for Relief?

Rally for Relief is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time (3 a.m. ET) on Wednesday, January 15.

The exhibition game will take place at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, the same venue that serves as the center court during the Australian Open.

Which players are taking part?

A host of tennis stars have confirmed they will be taking part in the exhibition, including Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios.

Rally for Relief will be broadcast in the U.S. by ESPN2 from 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, January 15.
