'Red Dead Redemption 2' Launch Trailer Coming Tomorrow, Preload Times Start Friday

Red Dead Redemption 2 is so close, you can almost taste it. To take excitement levels from "boiling over" to "through the roof" Rockstar is releasing a new trailer tomorrow.

The launch trailer debuts at 10 a.m. EDT, so come right back to Newsweek once the trailer is up for an analysis of any new information we can scrape from the video. While we already have a decent grasp on the time frame, main characters and world of Red Dead Redemption 2, you never know what else Rockstar has hidden away.

What we shouldn't expect to see in Red Dead Redemption 2 's launch trailer is any information on Red Dead Online. Rockstar has been treating the western MMO as a separate game from the main campaign so far, and that likely will continue with this launch trailer. Red Dead Online doesn't even start its beta period until November, so expect a separate launch trailer for that when the time comes.

Rockstar also confirmed players can begin preloading Red Dead 2 onto consoles beginning this Friday. So if you've pre-ordered a copy of Red Dead 2, you can download and install it to your console's hard drive on Friday. This is a crucial step if you want to start playing as early as possible, seeing as how the game is positively massive. Regardless of console, expect around 100 GB of information to download, which will take multiple hours for most internet connections. Once you do have the files downloaded, you'll be able to play as soon as the game is unlocked.
