Get 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Slightly Earlier at Target [UPDATE]

UPDATE: GameStop has reached out to Newsweek to announce the chain will also honor the same 9 p.m. local time release for Red Dead Redemption 2. While there aren't any button sets with a purchase from GameStop, the company is offering $100 off new Xbox One consoles, including the Xbox One S and Xbox One X with purchase of a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2. This offer is valid from Oct. 25 to Nov. 3.

Original story is as follows...

Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives at the end of the week, and if you're anything like me, that's a huge reason to celebrate. However, if you truly cannot wait a second longer than absolutely necessary, we have the scoop for you. Target has a deal to release Red Dead Redemption 2 slightly early so you don't have to stay up until midnight to buy your copy.

As stated in the picture above from this week's Target ad, both the standard version and special edition of Red Dead Redemption 2 will go on sale at 9 p.m. local time on Thursday, Nov. 25. That's three whole hours earlier than anywhere else! It should be noted that the PS4 Pro bundle that includes Red Dead Redemption 2 is also available, but the ad doesn't specify whether that particular bundle will be available early.

As an added bonus of purchasing your copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 from Target, all copies sold come with a free set of pins inspired by the game. One pin is the game's text logo, and the other two are different versions of the Rockstar logo. These are available while supplies last and are packaged separately, so you may need to ask if there are any left when purchasing your copy.

For those on the east coast, this is the earliest opportunity you'll have at playing Red Dead Redemption 2. For those on the west coast, these physical copies will be available at the same time that digital copies unlock on PS4. Assuming you have preloaded your copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 onto your PS4, this is still the earliest time west coast gamers can start playing.

So what do you think? Are you planning on visiting your local Target store to buy your copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 slightly early? Will you buy a digital copy instead? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
