Some Reddit users were seeing a "service unavailable" message when they tried to load the website on Sunday. The issue was appearing on Down Detector as well where reports said that the main problems were with the website and with log-in.

The outage map on Down Detector showed that most of the reports about the outage were coming from the United States and from Europe. Despite the issues, users were reporting on social media the Reddit status page said that the site was fully operational as of 2 p.m. EST.

Users were also taking to Twitter to check in on the possible outage and see whether they were the only ones experiencing issues with the site. Some users weren't sure if they had been banned or if the site was down for everyone.

Other users were reporting on Twitter that they were also seeing a message that said: "Our CDN was unable to reach our servers." Some users were even checking with Reddit on Twitter to see whether the site knew that the servers were down.

@reddit are you aware about your servers being down?

At 2:17 p.m. EST the status page posted an incident report of elevated error rates on the site. The notice said that Reddit was investigating the issue and that "This incident affects: reddit.com (Desktop Web, Mobile Web, Native Mobile Apps)."

Some users reported that the site was back up and running normally shortly after the incident report appeared, around 2:30 p.m. EST, tweeting that the site was back to normal.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
