Woman Telling Cheating Boyfriend She's Happy He's Expecting a Baby Praised

The internet has praised a woman who congratulated her ex-boyfriend on his new family after he cheated on her leaving a girl pregnant.

In a post shared on Reddit last Thursday, the woman, who goes by the username u/throwaway5838292, explained that she recently found out her (now ex) boyfriend got another girl pregnant, but she doesn't really care about it and it's just glad it didn't happen to her.

She wrote: "So basically, the girl messaged me on [Instagram], saying she was pregnant with my boyfriend's baby (supposedly she didn't know we were together but...). I confronted him and he confirmed. I said 'Aww you're gonna be a dad! Congrats on the family! I'll get you a baby shower gift in a few months. Get out."

The ex-boyfriend wasn't happy with her answer and asked: "What?? That's it? After all, we've been through and you just don't care?" to which the woman answered "Yep!" and started packing his stuff. Still not happy, he started calling her names, saying his "side chick had more boobs."

According to the Institute of Family Studies, 20 percent of men and 13 percent of women admitted to having cheated on their partners while married. Among adults ages 18 to 29, women are slightly more likely than men to be guilty of infidelity (11 percent vs. 10 percent).

Women are most likely to cheat in their 60s (16 percent), but that rapidly declines among women in their 70s and 80s.

By comparison, the infidelity rate among men in their 70s is the highest (26 percent), and it remains high among men ages 80 and older (24 percent).

The post, first shared on the r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit, has received over 14,400 upvotes and 505 comments in less than a day.

One user said: "Consider yourself lucky you found out who he really was now instead of 20 years of marriage and 3 kids later. You dodged a bullet. Enjoy those drinks!"

A second added: "LOVE that you're carefree on this. This is nothing you did he's a piece of shit for cheating! Take a shot for me tomorrow!"

Another suggested: "Give baby mamma a heads up on what to watch out for if she didn't know you existed, leave her to her own devices if she did. I must ask, what was the actual retort? Did he seriously act like the world was against him in some unfair plan to punish him?"

While a fourth user asked: "What did he expect? Crying and begging him to stay? LMAO!" Get an STD test and celebrate the bullet you dodged! Was he expecting you to co-parent? What reaction did he expect?"
