Manchester United could turn to Bayern Munich's Renato Sanches as Jose Mourinho seeks to buff up his midfield ahead of the new Premier League season.
Sanches earned a move to Bayern Munich from Benfica last summer on the back of standout performances for Portugal in UEFA Euro 2016.
But the 19-year-old has struggled to hold down a starting place in Bayern's powerful midfield and now manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he could leave.
"At this time, he's [Sanches] training with us. We have to make a decision," Ancelotti said on Monday. "A move could be a possibility but there is also a chance he could stay with us for the season."
Mourinho is a strong believer in Sanches, according to The Telegraph, as the kind of midfielder he needs to boost United's chances of winning this season's Premier League.

Chilean striker Sanchez, 28, wants to join Manchester City but Arsene Wenger is "holding firm" on his decision not to sell. If Sanchez does force through a move to Manchester then Wenger will likely make a renewed effort at signing Thomas Lemar from A.S. Monaco.
As City continues to spend, Antonio Conte must play catch-up. The Chelsea manager will be given more than £250 million, according to The Telegraph, to bring in four players.
Chelsea continues to pursue Juventus left back Alex Sandro, Inter Milan's Antonio Candreva, striker Fernando Llorente and Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk. Dutch international Van Dijk was a Liverpool target before that club had to abandon the chase after admitting it had made an illegal approach for Van Dijk.
Riyad Mahrez was the elegant architect of Leicester City's still scarcely believable Premier League title victory but it seems that partnership could be coming to an end. Mahrez, the 27-year-old Algeria winger, is the subject of a £30 million offer from A.S. Roma according to the Daily Mail although Leicester is holding out for £50 million.
