Rescue Dogs Enjoying McDonald's Burger For First Time Melt Hearts

Internet users were left sobbing after a rescue center shared a video of its pups enjoying a McDonald's burger for the first time.

The clip, shared on TikTok on Wednesday by CA rescue, under the username Doggonespoiled, shows the excited dogs indulging in hamburgers, some of them devouring them in fewer than two bites.

Since it's not a good idea for dogs to eat sauces, the burgers were just plain with cheese, as the volunteer clarified in a comment: "Yes!! We made sure nothing was on the burger before giving [it] too."

According to The Spruce Pets, tomato sauces, ketchup, soups, or juices aren't good for dogs because of added salt and sugar, as well as artificial flavors or other chemicals they might contain. Also, soups and sauces are commonly seasoned with onions and garlic, which are toxic to dogs.

According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) other foodstuffs to avoid giving our canine friends include alcohol, avocado, chocolate, coffee and caffeine, as well as citric acid, grapes and raisins, milk and dairy, nuts, raw/under-cooked meat, eggs and, perhaps surprisingly, bones.

"Feeding your pet raw bones may seem like a natural and healthy option that might occur if your pet lived in the wild," the ASPCA says. "However, this can be very dangerous for a domestic pet, who might choke on bones, or sustain a grave injury should the bone splinter and become lodged in or puncture your pet's digestive tract."

The clip of the dogs has so far been viewed more than 450,000 times in less than two days, receiving over 61,800 likes.

One TikToker, Hollie, commented, "I want them all."

Another user, Mary Lou said, "Genuinely sobbing," while Squash added, "Awww. This just warmed my heart."

Ashleigh Robins said: "Aww this is so beautiful, well done for giving them a bit [of] normality. I wish them all luck in finding beautiful homes."

Nataliecamp661 added: "Your rescue manager is so sweet for doing this. I know those babies loved them."

Tryingtoohard wrote: "This is the most wholesome thing I've seen today. Thank you for spoiling those sweet babies while they wait for their furever homes!"
