On Tuesday, three suspects robbed and assaulted 26-year-old rapper Rich the Kid and members of his entourage on outside a famous recording studio in West Hollywood, California.

During the incident, one of the victims was reportedly pistol-whipped, according to entertainment news website TMZ. Furthermore, as the suspects fled the scene, one of them fired multiple gunshots at the victims, although no one was hit.

Video footage obtained by KABC shows the musician—whose real name is Dimitri Roger—talking to paramedics and police officers outside Westlake Recording Studios on Santa Monica Boulevard after the incident.

TMZ reported that Roger—who just hours earlier had posted an image of himself on Instagram holding wads of cash in front of his Lamborghini—was the target of the robbery. Representatives for the rapper have now confirmed to TMZ that he was not seriously harmed and is "doing okay."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department released a statement detailing the incident, although they did not name the rapper specifically.

"West Hollywood Sheriff Station is advising of a robbery that occurred on the 7200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, at approximately 3:13 p.m. [Tuesday,]" the statement read.

"When deputies arrived at the location, they found three male black assault victims. The victims stated three male black suspects confronted them in the alley behind a business and demanded their money and jewelry. The victims were then physically assaulted by the suspects."

According to the Sheriff's Office, all the suspects got into a vehicle and drove westbound, away from the crime's location.

"As the suspects drove away, a shooting occurred by an unknown male suspect," the statement continued. "The shooting suspect has not been located or identified. The victims were treated at the scene for minor injuries, no one was transported to a hospital. Deputies have not located any gunshot victims at this time."

At the time of the incident, singer Usher was recording in the same studio on a different project but he was not involved, People reported.

The Sheriff's Office say that they are currently investigating the incident and encourage anyone with information about to contact them at (310) 855-8850. Those who would prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS, download the "P3 Tips" mobile app or use the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.

Roger was born on July 13, 1992, in Queens, New York to parents of Haitian descent, although he moved to Woodstock, Georgia, at the age of 13 following their divorce. He displayed a love for music at a young age and his favorite artists when he was growing up were 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G—as well as T.I. and Young Jeezy later on—XXL Magazine reported.

He released his first solo mixtape, Been About the Benjamins, in 2013 and went on to release six more in the next three years. He has also released a number of collaborative mixtapes—for example, the Streets on Lock series with Migos—and has featured a host of other artists in his songs, including Young Thug, Gucci Mane, iLoveMakonnen and 21 Savage.

In 2016, he set up his own record label Rich Forever Music, which now hosts more than a dozen artists. In 2017, he signed to Interscope Records—on which he released his debut album The World Is Yours. The record spawned the single "New Freezer" featuring Kendrick Lamar which has been certified platinum. His second album, The World Is Yours 2, is due later this year.

The latest incident is not the first time Roger has been targeted. In June last year, armed robbers broke into his girlfriend's L.A. home while he was visiting, making off with a significant amount of money and jewelry. During the incident, he was badly beaten and hospitalized as a result.
