Day 11 of the Rio Olympics saw controversy in the boxing ring, in the water and on the cycling track.
Irish boxer Michael Conlan raged at boxing officials and the sport's governing body for a hotly disputed defeat to Russian Vladimir Nikitin, while Briton Jack Burnell described his disqualification for two yellow cards in the final few meters of the 10-kilometer swim as a "joke."
Briton Jason Kenny won the sixth gold medal of his Olympic career in the keirin, only after narrowly missing out on disqualification. The race was halted and restarted twice before Kenny blasted to victory, followed later by his fiancé Laura Trott, who won gold in the omnium competition.
