Rottweiler Who 'Nobody Wanted To Stroke' Filmed Cuddling Owner in Cute Clip

A Rottweiler named Axel has left the internet in tears after a video of him snuggling with his mom after nobody showed him any affection at the park went viral on social media.

The clip, shared on TikTok by the dog's owner, under the username Nala_the_needy_rottie, shows the Rottweiler on the couch hugging his mom, looking for comfort in her arms.

Shared on the platform on Saturday, the video, which has been viewed over 6.2 million times and liked 1.1 million times, comes with a caption that says: "He went to the park today and nobody wanted to stroke him… He doesn't understand why people ignore him…"

Rottweilers are the eighth-most popular dog in the United States this year, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). As a breed, they are very affectionate with family members and they are also very protective of them.

Although there is no documentation of the Rottweiler's origins, it is believed the breed descends from the herding dogs of ancient Rome.

Roman soldiers used these dogs to herd livestock and march them along with the army, as it was the only way for them to have a steady food supply without refrigeration.

Rottweilers, according to the AKC, are smart, tireless and eager to please, and because of their qualities, they can be service dogs, therapy dogs, obedience competitors, guide dogs, customs inspectors, drafting and carting dogs, and of course, devoted companions.

Although they have a reputation for being ferocious attack dogs, this doesn't really define them, according to the AKC, saying that even though they do have the potential to be territorial, they can also be extremely gentle and loving when they are properly trained and socialized.
