Samuel L. Jackson Calls for Trump's Resignation After Putin Meeting: 'This Muthaf**ker's Got to Go!'

President Donald Trump let down plenty of Americans after he sided with Russian President Vladimir Putin and seemingly denounced U.S. intelligence agencies' assessment of the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election on Monday.

The U.S. president's comments sparked nationwide outrage across party lines and even ruffled the feathers of some of Hollywood's elite, including actor Samuel L. Jackson, who is now calling for Trump to leave office.

Jackson apparently called for Trump's resignation in a tweet posted on Tuesday. "There's nothing clever or snarky to say that would salve the wound Patriotism took yesterday!! THIS MUTHAF**KER'S GOT TO GO!!" the actor wrote.

Jackson also responded to Trump's nonsensical ramblings about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails and alleged missing servers that may be withholding the truth about Putin and Russia's innocence with regard to election collusion that is currently being investigated by special counsel Robert Mueller. "That MUTHAF**KER wants to see a server… We wanna see some FUKKYN TAX RETURNS!! Trade ya!!" Jackson wrote.

During the joint press conference, Trump said there were "groups" that were "wondering" about the FBI's role in a missing server that could exonerate Putin. "Why didn't they take the server? Where is the server? I want to know, and what is the server saying?" Trump said.

The server Trump was referring to is actually 140 cloud-based servers that the Democratic National Committee decommissioned in June 2016, while Jackson was highlighting the fact that the president still hadn't shared his long-sought-after tax returns. While campaigning, Trump often claimed his taxes were undergoing an audit and promised to release them when it was completed.

Jackson wasn't the only Hollywood star disheartened by Trump's appearance alongside Putin on Monday. Several other celebrities spoke out on social media against the president's comments and behavior, including a few who accused Trump of treason.

Retweeting former CIA Director John O. Brennan, Don Cheadle suggested Trump was never a patriot, to begin with. "Their masks have been fully removed. They're not now nor ever were patriots," Cheadle wrote.

Bette Midler called Trump an "outright traitor" in a tweet posted on Monday. "The DOJ indicts 12 Russians for interference in the 2016 elections, and Trump meets Putin and blames the US for tensions," she wrote.

John Cusack also suggested Trump's comments were traitorous and reposted a tweet by Mother Jones editor David Corn claiming that Trump's behavior has "been treasonous from day 1."

Rosanna Arquette simply wrote, "The stench is overwhelming it stinky in Helsinki #treasonSunmit [sic]."

Meanwhile, Trump's longstanding enemy Rosie O'Donnell kept her remarks on the president's summit short: "#TreasonSummit #ImpeachTrump," she wrote.
