Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed key midfielder Santi Cazorla will be out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.

Cazorla, 32, has missed much of the season with the problem and last played against Ludogorets of Bulgaria in the UEFA Champions League on October 19, 2016.

At a press conference prior to Arsenal's hosting of Manchester City in the English Premier League at Etihad Stadium this Sunday, Wenger said the Spain international would not play again this campaign.

"I think the season is over for him," Wenger said of Cazorla who also missed time last season with injury in quotes reported by the BBC.

Wenger also revealed Petr Cech, his first-choice goalkeeper for the Premier League, will miss the next two games with an injury suffered in the 3-1 defeat away at West Bromwich Albion on March 18.

"We lost Petr Cech at West Brom. I think he could miss Sunday and then Wednesday against West Ham and then could be available after," Wenger told radio station talkSPORT.
