'Scrubs' Reunion: Everything We Know

The cast of Scrubs, the hospital-based sitcom that ran from 2001 to 2010 and starred Zach Braff, John C. McGinley and Sarah Chalke, had a mini-reunion, sending fans into overdrive.

Scrubs is often described as one of the best comedy shows to have been on TV, and the stars' "impromptu" gathering went viral on social media.

In attendance were McGinley, Braff, Chalke, Christa Miller and the Talk's co-host Amanda Kloots. Her husband was the late actor Nick Cordero who died from COVID-19 in 2020. Cordero starred with Braff in Bullets Over Broadway in 2014.

Miller posted a photo of the reunion to her Instagram on Monday with the caption, "Impromptu pizza party with my Scrubs."

McGinley also shared the same photo to his X, formerly Twitter, account in a post, that has had more than 3.3 million views; "...getting the band back together!" he teased in the caption. The other main stars from the show, Donald Faison, Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins, were not in the picture.

Fans loved the photo, with many begging for them to bring Scrubs back to the small screen.

"FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE JUST GIVE US A REBOOT!" commented one person on Miller's post. Another added: "We NEED a movie or reboot!"

A third wrote: "Omg {oh my god] bring back Scrubs!! Please!"

One standout comment on Miller's post came from Scrubs' creator Bill Lawrence, who wrote, "Was not invited. Weird." He is married to Miller.

Scrubs followed the lives of trainee doctors and nurses as they tried to climb up the ranks at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Lawrence previously teased a potential reboot in 2022 while on a panel at the ATX TV Festival with the Scrubs cast.

"We're gonna do it because people still care about it and we enjoy spending time with each other," Lawrence said.

Faison admitted that a revival might not be happening soon, because Lawrence has been busy over the past few years creating the Apple+ TV series Ted Lasso.

"Here's the deal: I think we all want a reboot and want to work together again, but it couldn't be a full season; maybe like a movie or something we could shoot in a few months," Faison said. "With everything Bill is doing now, he's never going to be free again. If he finds the time, we'll do it."

The pizza dinner was not the first time the band has come back together and in 2021, some of the cast appeared on Celebrity Family Feud.

Faison and Braff teamed up with Lawrence, as well as two staff from their podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends. They went up against the show's janitor played by Neil Flynn and his comedy troupe, Beer Shark Mice.

The show got very boisterous, with Zach and Braff winning $25,000 for their nominated charity, Stop AAPI Hate. It is a non-profit that tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S.
