A serial tire slasher is on the loose in New Jersey and authorities have offered a reward to catch him.
The spree began in June in Manville (Somerset County) when authorities found the tires of some 40 cars slashed, according to a report from NJ Advance. One of them was set on fire. Cars with tires slashed were parked in the North West sections of Manville Borough.
Now, the tire slasher has struck again, striking 35 cars in the same city a week later. The tires were slashed Thursday in the overnight hours between midnight and 4 a.m., according to mycentraljersey.com. One of the cars slashed the second night was hit on the first night.
Authorities released a video showing the tire slasher in action, hoping the public can help catch him. The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is offering a $500 reward for information that leads to the serial tire slasher's arrest.
In the surveillance video released, the tire slasher appears to be a Caucasian man wearing a light-colored hoodie.
